My third poetry collection.
Kintsugi is a Japanese art that repairs broken pottery with gold. Rather than trying to hide the damage, kintsugi highlights the repair. The imperfections are what make it beautiful. A broken piece that is put back together has more of a story, is real, more authentic, and is stronger and more resilient.
Life likes to take its pound of flesh. But I like getting the last word. And I will always claim my power back by taking my life, telling my story and turning it into art. I am an alchemist of the soul and I will always spin the blood I spill into gold.
